Things have been pretty quite around here and the Tigers blog as of late. But we are back with a post to talk about the free agent market and possible trade targets for the Detroit Tigers as they look to make some changs to their roster before the 2009 season.
One position the Tigers have been looking to sign is a left hander relief pitcher. One name that recently popped up on the Tigers website was Joe Beimel. Team president/general manager Dave Dombrowski has said he would like to have two left-handers available in the bullpen.
The top priority however for the Tigers seem to be the shortstop, catcher and closer positions. As of right now we haven’t heard a whole lot of chatter about free agent signings. A few names like Julio Lugo and possibly Jason Varitek have popped up but I don’t see Varitek coming to the Tigers.
We will keep you posted here at the Tigers Blog if any signings or trades happen with the team. Keep on checking back Tigers fans!
