The Detroit Tigers lost to the Boston Red Sox for the third time in four games as they lost 5-1 on Thursday night. The Tigers were only able to come up with seven hits the entire game as they struggled at the plate.
Ramon Santiago had the only rbi for the Tigers when he had a rbi single in the fourth inning. Other then that the Tigers were shut down by Josh Beckett in the game.
Justin Verlander took the loss for the Tigers after pitching six innings. Verlander gave up nine hits and five runs in his six innings of action. He fell to the 1-6 on the season with the loss.
There is no question that the Tigers are a struggling baseball team right now. The offense isn’t scoring enough runs, and the pitchers just aren’t throwing the ball like everyone thought they would this year.
