Maybe only the rain can stop the Boston Red Sox these days. Boston's game on the road against the Detroit Tigers was postponed because of rain Saturday night. The game will be made up in a day-night double-header Sunday. The first game will begin at 1:05 p.m. with Andy Oliver making his first start for the Tigers against Clay Buchholz.

The Detroit Tigers changed their roster and lineup Friday night. It didn't help them find a way to beat the Boston Red Sox. Rick Porcello couldn't repeat his last outing — eight shutout innings against Pittsburgh — and the Tigers dropped to 0-4 against the Red Sox this season with a 6-3 defeat.

After taking game one in their last series against the Boston Red Sox, the Cleveland Indians were soundly beat their final two. Team morale had to have been dented although I doubt it was anything more a day off could not fix.

Don't look now, but Carl Crawford has raised his average to .244, a number that never has seemed so good to the Boston Red Sox left fielder. Crawford has gone 8-for-9 with two doubles, two triples, one home run, five RBI and five runs in Boston's last two games.
