Armando Galarraga hobbled around the Detroit Tigers clubhouse after Friday night's game. He apparently was not seriously injured by a line drive off his right ankle. "It looks like an ankle bruise. He was checked out by the doctors" and there was no broken bone, Detroit manager Jim Leyland said after the Tigers' 6-5 win over the Boston Red Sox.

The Detroit Tigers have made room on the roster for newly acquired third baseman Jhonny Peralta by optioning infielder Scott Sizemore to Triple-A Toledo. The moves were announced before Detroit's game against Tampa Bay on Thursday. The Tigers obtained Peralta and cash considerations from Cleveland for minor league left-hander Giovanni Soto on Wednesday.
