Slowey (8-5) could've pitched more, but Magglio Ordonez's comebacker bounced off and bruised his right ankle before he threw him out on the final play of the sixth.

Detroit Tigers reliever Joel Zumaya is gone for the rest of the season with a fractured right elbow. The team said Tuesday that the hard-throwing Zumaya fractured his right olecranon, which is the bony tip of the elbow right under the skin. The injury was diagnosed Tuesday, one day after the injury left him writhing on the mound during a game in Minneapolis.
